Route:
Old Fort Townsend State Park, SR20, 101, Olympic Discovery Trail, Dungeness Wilderness Area
Cities:
Discovery Bay
Sequim
Started out with usual morning land fog. SR20/101 to Discovery Bay had mostly narrow and some moderate shoulders. From Discovery Bay to Sequim the shoulders were mostly wide. The traffic after 9:00 am was moderate to heavy.
Just after leaving Discovery Bay, the Garden Espresso is a must stop. Mary, the owner, and her barista make a terrific espresso/latte in their drive-thru kiosk/gift shop. The cafe is next to a tranquil garden/waterfall area with shaded benches. Good WiFi is available.
A few miles before Sequim, I turned off 101 to the John Wayne Marina and followed a scenic country road to downtown Port Angeles. In Sequim, stopped at the Hurricane Coffee Co. (recommended) for lunch, recharging, and writing). Then headed down the Olympic Discovery Trail to camp in Dungeness Wilderness Area, about 9 miles from Sequim. The paved bike trail was gorgeous.
Ohhhh yayyyy...this is the 4th day without a shower and I'm proud of it! It is just Me and Myself...and Myself said he did not mind.
