We will depart on October 28, 2019 from San Diego and return on December 18. There will be island updates on a best efforts basis. We will meet up with Steve's sister, Gyongyi, in both Hilo and Kona. We plan to spend most of the day on November 6 at Gyongyi's house in Keaau near Hilo. Hopefully, she will not put me to work in her one acre back yard.
I did a weather check and for the next week or so, weather looks good. The weather in the South Pacific and our cruising area (approximately bounded by the white oval) will see winds from 0 knots (bluish areas) to about 15 knots (greenish areas). The North Pacific is a different story. There is a big storm/cold front off the Aleutian Islands and the Bering Sea with winds of 60+ knots.
